OTSL/ONJ reunion!

Apparently R missed the memo about wearing purple. So great to see J again! We definitely enjoyed the Diva Indian Bistro (great food, decor, atmosphere) and even went back after the show to the Diva Lounge for drinks.

Dinner: Tuna salad with cranberries and fresh dill

Lunch: chicken salad with cranberries, celery, and green onion

Lunchtime: egg white salad (à la Trader Joe's)

• Egg whites
• Fresh dill
• Chopped celery
• Lemon juice
• Mayonnaise
• A dash of mustard
• Garlic powder
• Salt & pepper 
• A touch of brown sugar
• Voila!

Recipe of the Day: Bacon-wrapped mahi mahi with mango salsa

Ok, I admit it, I cheated today. Used a frozen Trader Joe's special: bacon-wrapped mahi mahi filets. But the mango salsa was homemade! This was a hubby favorite, definitely. Next time I'll try it from scratch--but without the corn starch, corn oil, and butter.

Bike ride along the Esplanade

What a perfect-weather day! It doesn't get much better than this. Vacation. Sunshine. Cool breeze. No pressing obligations. Biking along the Charles River in the heart of the city.

Recipe of the Day: Roast pork tenderloin with caramelized mushrooms

Didn't have all the ingredients to the various recipes I found online, so I improvised: roast pork tenderloin topped with a balsamic dijon apricot sauce (which caramelized nicely) and mushrooms with seared asparagus. The result? I'm STUFFED. Hubby is happy. Success! Also, I desperately need to get a meat thermometer.

 

Max Brenner in Boston - yum

K and I checked out the new Max Brenner chocolate-themed restaurant on Boylston in Boston today. OMG. The minute you walk in the door all you smell is chocolate. The decor is fantastic (dark brown leather and jars of chocolate everywhere) and the menu to drool for.
